You don’t need a referral to see Pilbara Hands. If you have a hand or upper limb injury or concern, you can book directly with us. You don’t need to wait for imaging or test results before seeking treatment – getting started early can help you on the road to recovery sooner.
Can’t find a suitable appointment? Please try to book online first. We keep some appointments available for urgent needs, so if you can’t find an appointment within the timeframe you need, please call us.

Before your appointment
If you have a referral, imaging, test results or other information relevant to your injury or condition, please bring these to your first appointment.
You can still book and begin treatment while waiting for further imaging or investigations.
Healthcare professional referrals
Pilbara Hands welcomes referrals from GPs, surgeons, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals. Referrals can be emailed directly to admin@pilbarahands.com.au. Please include the patient’s name and contact details, diagnosis or injury details, and the referrer’s name and contact details.
Fees and rebates
Pilbara Hands is a private practice and fees apply for services provided.
If you have private health insurance that includes Occupational Therapy, you may be eligible for a rebate. Some patients may also be eligible for a Medicare rebate with an appropriate GP care plan. Out-of-pocket expenses may apply.
If cost is a concern, please discuss this with us when your appointment is confirmed.
Workplace and other funded injuries
If your treatment relates to workers compensation, motor vehicle insurance, DVA or another third-party funding arrangement, please contact us to discuss referral, approval and payment requirements.
Regional appointments
Pilbara Hands is based in Karratha. Online appointments and outreach may also be available where appropriate and subject to availability.
